General

 

This series of acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02 has excellent water solubility and acidization. It can form effective protective layer on the steel surfaces. This series of acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02 is compatible with ZX-DA-01 series of acid diversion agents. The acid diverting system made of this series of acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02 can effectively reduce the corrosion rate of hydrochloric or sulfonic acids when the temperature is at or below 160°C/320°F

Preparation of Clean Self-Diverting Acid System

Formulation of the spent acid of clean Self-diverting system

Method 1:

Following the formula (20% hydrochloric acid + clean self-steering agent ZX-DA-01 + specialized steering acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02), add the respective chemicals into a 500 mL beaker in sequence to prepare the clean self-steering acid.

2) Pour 200g of the prepared clean self-steering acid into a 1000 mL beaker, gradually add 58g of calcium carbonate multiple times, stirring continuously with a glass rod. After the addition of calcium carbonate, stir to ensure full reaction until the pH reaches or exceeds 4, then allow to sit until degassing is complete.

 

Method 2:

Follow the formula (22% calcium chloride + clean self-steering agent ZX-DA-01 + specialized steering acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02) or (30% calcium chloride + clean self-steering agent ZX-DA-01 + specialized steering acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02), first dissolve the calcium chloride in water. Once fully dissolved, add the clean self-steering agent ZX-DA-01 and the specialized steering acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02 in sequence, stirring evenly with a glass rod.

Note: 22% calcium chloride is equivalent to 15% HCl spent acid, and 30% calcium chloride is equivalent to 20% HCl spent acid.

 

Viscosity Testing of Clean Self-Steering Acid Exhaust

Measure 38mL of clean self-steering acid exhaust and place it inside the cylinder of a MARS-III rheometer. Use the PZ38Ha testing rotor, with a warming speed of 3 °C/37.4 °F per minute to the required temperature, shear rate of 170 S-1. Once the temperature reaches the required level, continue isothermal shearing for 30 minutes.

 

Gel-breaking Methods, adjustable as required, gel-breaking viscosity <5mPa.s, measured with a capillary viscometer.

1) Add 1% of ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and stir evenly,the gel will be broken.

2) Add 70mL of colloid and 30mL of kerosene or diesel to a flask, stir evenly, and let sit at room temperature for 1 hour to break the gel.

3) Add 70mL of colloid and 30mL of kerosene or diesel to a flask, stir evenly, and a water bath at 90°C can break the gel.

 

Corrosion Rate of Clean Self-Steering Acid

The testing method is in accordance with SY/T 5405-2019. The steel specimen is N80, and the hydrochloric acid concentration is 20%.

Safety and handling

This series of acid corrosion inhibitor ZX-DA-02 is intended for technical use only. Avoid physical contact. Use gloves and goggles for protection. Material spilled on the skin should be washed off with soap and plenty of water. If splashed in the eye rinse with copious quantities of Water.

Keep containers closed when not in use. Avoid contact with water. Keep away from sparks and open flame. Do not smoke. Empty containers may hold gases that form explosive mixtures with air.
