Triethanolamine (TEA or TEOA), ZX-C4-02 with a CAS number of 102-71-6 and a chemical formula of C6H15NO3, is a nitrogen-containing organic compound. It is a colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid at room temperature, with a density of 1.124g /cm³, a boiling point of 335.4-360℃, and a melting point of 21℃. It has weak alkalinity (pKa=7.82) and hygroscopicity. It can absorb acidic gases, react with acids to form salts, and has the properties of both tertiary amines and triols. It can also form chelates with metals.

Application

 

Main Industrial Application

TEA/Triethanolamine ZX-C4-02 plays an important role and has a wide range of applications in multiple industrial fields. Firstly, in the cosmetics industry, it is often used as an emulsifier and moisturizer, which can significantly enhance the fineness and brightening effect of products. Secondly, adding triethanolamine to liquid detergents can enhance their ability to remove oil stains. In addition, it is also a curing agent for epoxy resin and an activator for rubber vulcanization and polymerization. In the cement industry, triethanolamine, as an admixture, can enhance the fluidity and filling density of cement. Meanwhile, its long-chain fatty acid salts can be used as emulsifiers for oils and fats. Triethanolamine also reacts with oleic acid to form corrosion inhibitors, which are widely used in the mechanical processing industry. In addition, it is also a stationary liquid for gas chromatography, a chelating agent for heavy metals, and an important component in the galvanizing process. In the textile industry, it serves as a solvent and desiccant, and is the raw material for fabric softeners. Finally, triethanolamine can also be used as an industrial gas purifier to remove acidic gases from waste gas. TEA/Triethanolamine ZX-C4-02 has low volatility and a small possibility of inhalation poisoning. When there is aerosol, a mask must be worn to protect the respiratory organs. In the production of synthetic fibers and the metal processing industry, exhaust devices should be installed at the production or storage and transportation sites of triethanolamine. When stored in the original closed packaging and protected from environmental effects TEA/Triethanolamine ZX-C4-02 can be stored for the shelf life of two years.
