Styrene-Butadiene Block Copolymer (SBS)

ZX-BP-03 (SBS1301-1) styrene-butadiene block copolymer is a copolymer made by anionic polymerization from butadiene and styrene in a hydrocarbon solvent using organic lithium as the initiator. It appears as white or yellowish colored porous particles with rod or water shape. It possesses the advantages of both rubber and plastic with excellent low temperature endurance, air permeability, and wet-skid resistance. It is characterized by easy molding and coloring, simple processing, none vulcanization, and low consumption or energy. The follow bits and pieces can be recovered. It is widely used in footwear, adhensives, waterproof coiled materials, modification of higher polymer and road asphalt, cable, and toys.

.Asphalt modification: adding 3%-15% SBS to asphalt can improve the low temperature flexibility and high temperature flow resistance of asphalt. Improving the low temperature flexibility of asphalt can reduce the hard service life of asphalt at low temperature. Improving the flow resistance of asphalt at high temperature can reduce the softening flow of asphalt at high temperature. SBS is to effectively improve the service life of highway and coil materials.

ZX-BP-03 (SBS1301-1) SBS shall not be exposed to flame, moisture and strong sunlight during storage and transportation. The product shall be stocked at room temperature in a ventilated, clean and dry warehouse and shall not be stacked in the open air or exposed to strong sunlight.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when responding to spills. Avoid generation of dust. Take precautionary measures against static discharges, earth/ ground all equipment. Do not breathe dust. Use local exhaust over processing area. Considering the risks of electrostatic discharges handling the products in potentially flammable atmospheres should be evaluated carefully. Suitable precautions should be taken at all times especially when emptying bags or other packaging.
