Road surface cleaning and treatment

It is necessary to remove dust, water and other debris from the adhered surface to keep the road surface dry and clean.

2. For cracks (seams) with a width ranging from 5 to 19 millimeters, they must be thoroughly cleaned and then filled with sealant.

3. For cracks (seams) and depressions with a width ranging from 19 to 50 mm, they must be thoroughly cleaned. Then, fill them with sealant or asphalt mixture and compact them to the current height.

4. For cracks or potholes with a width exceeding 50mm, they must first be cleaned thoroughly, then filled with cement mortar or hot asphalt mixture and compacted to the original height.

5. For cracks (seams) of different heights and areas with subsidence, leveling treatment must be carried out.

6. For any protrusions on the bridge deck or pavement, they must be removed or leveled to achieve a smooth surface.

Check the environmental conditions

1.It should be used when the surface temperature is equal to or greater than 21°C.

2. If the surface temperature is lower than 10°C, it is recommended to use a low heat setting when applying the anti-cracking patches. The patches should be flat, without wrinkles or edges that lift off.

3. During the laying process, if there is any overlap, the overlap length should be 50MM and it should not exceed two layers of overlap.

4. It is recommended to apply the polymer crack-resistant tape and then use a rubber roller to roll it at least three times

5. After the laying is completed, vehicles can be allowed to pass. The interval between this and the laying of the upper layer should not exceed 24 hours.

1.After the crack-resistant tape is properly laid, it should be firmly bonded to the upper layer of the construction to avoid moisture and rain exposure.

2. After laying the anti-crack strips, according to the construction specifications of hot asphalt mixture, apply emulsified asphalt or other tack oils. To prevent vehicles or the paver from adhering to the anti-crack strips, some fine-grained crushed stones or mixtures can be sprinkled on the anti-crack strips.

3. The thickness of the hot asphalt mixture laid on the crack-resistant tape should be greater than 40MM
