Application

Field of application

Dimethyl disulfide ZX-SC-06 DMDS has extensive applications in industry. It is often used as an insecticide, fungicide and industrial catalyst. For instance, it can be used for soil disinfection, grain storage protection, and sulfides in cracked oil, etc

Dimethyl Disulfide (DMDS) is a sulfur-based fuel additive designed to improve combustion efficiency, enhance ignition performance, and support refinery fuel upgrading.

It is widely used by refiners and fuel distributors to optimize fuel quality, improve ignition stability, and reduce blending costs-especially in diesel and gasoline performance adjustment.

Synthetic route

The synthesis of dimethyl disulfide is usually obtained through the reaction of sulfur and methanol. First, sulfur is reacted with methanol under certain conditions to form methyl sulfite, and then through further reactions, the product of dimethyl disulfide is obtained.

Stability

1, Stay away from oxides, reducing agents and bases.

2. Pale yellow transparent liquid. It smells bad. Insoluble in water, but miscible with ethanol, ether and acetic acid.

3. It exists in flue-cured tobacco leaves and smoke.

Storage

Store in a sealed container and keep in a cool and dry place. The storage place must be locked and the keys must be kept by the technical experts and their assistants. Avoid moisture and water. Keep away from oxidants and reductants. Do not store with strong alkali

Packaging

Heated road tanker/tank container or 200L steel drums, or per clients' requests.

Safety and handling

When using dimethyl disulfide ZX-SC-06, it is important to avoid contact with skin and eyes, and to prevent inhalation of its vapor. Appropriate protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles and gas masks, should be worn. At the same time, keep away from fire sources and oxidants to avoid dangerous situations.

When transporting dimethyl disulfide DMDS ZX-SC-06, measures should be taken to prevent leakage, and the packaging should be ensured to be intact and kept away from fire sources. When storing, it should be kept in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, away from flammable items and oxidants, and avoid high-temperature environments. At the same time, it should be stored in a sealed container to prevent evaporation from causing waste or safety hazards.
