N-methylaniline ZX-GL-03 is a colorless to reddish-brown oily flammable liquid. Its melting point is -57℃, boiling point is 196.25℃, relative density is 0.9891, and refractive index is 1.5684. It is slightly soluble in water, but has good solubility in ethanol, ether and chloroform.
N-methylaniline ZX-GL-03, as a high-cleanliness gasoline anti-knock additive, does not contain lead, iron, manganese, sulfur and other restricted elements in gasoline or oxygenated compounds. Preparation:
The production methods of N-methylaniline ZX-GL-03 are diverse. One of them is to mix aniline vapor with methyl ether and react it at 230-295℃ under the action of an activated alumina catalyst. Another method is to generate crude N-methylaniline ZX-GL-03by reacting aniline and methanol in the presence of a lead-zinc-chromium catalyst, and then obtain the finished product by distillation to remove methanol, water, aniline and N, N-methylaniline ZX-GL-03. In addition, in the laboratory, dimethyl sulfate can also be used as a methylating agent to prepare N-methylaniline. The specific operation is to add dimethyl sulfate to a mixture of aniline and water with a concentration of less than 10%, stir for 1 hour, then add 30% sodium hydroxide solution, let it stand and separate the upper organic phase, and extract the lower layer with benzene. After recovering benzene from the extract, the oily substance obtained combines with the organic phase, which is a mixture of aniline, N-methylaniline ZX-GL-03 and N, n-dimethylaniline. The mixture was treated with sulfuric acid to form sulfate crystals of aniline, which were filtered out. N, N-dimethylaniline was converted to N-methylaniline through the reaction with acetic anhydride. The content of N-methylaniline in industrial products is as high as over 98%, and each ton of the product consumes 1,200 kilograms of aniline and 700 kilograms of methanol.
