Detailed description:
Thrombin is the product obtained after the activation of porcine plasma thrombinogen by FXa (with the assistance of FVa and phospholipids). It is then purified through ion exchange and gel filtration chromatography, and the S/D virus inactivation step is added to complete the process.
Thrombin, also known as Factor IIa (FIIa), is a serine protease and plays a very important role in the coagulation cascade.
Physical and Chemical Properties:
Appearance: White freeze-dried powder
Purity: 95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE
Molecular weight: Approximately 36 kDa
Absorbance at 1 cm path length and 280 nm wavelength (1% concentration): approximately 10
Isoelectric point: 7.0
Specific activity: ≥ 700 IU/mg protein
Application example:
Thrombin has a wide range of applications, such as:
Detect the ratio of the anti-FIIa activity and anti-FXa activity of unclassified heparin and low-molecular-weight heparin
Accurately detect the anti-FIIa activity of unclassified heparin and low-molecular-weight heparin
Monitor the content of heparin in the blood samples
Measure the content of antithrombin in the blood to diagnose antithrombin deficiency disorder
As an affinity chromatography column stationary phase, it is used for the separation and purification of proteins with thrombin affinity.
